Blacklisting

What is Blacklisting?

Blacklisting describes the suspension of a publisher from a marketing campaign by an advertiser or an ad network. After being blacklisted, the publisher can not run the campaign and make money from it any longer.

Blacklisting can happen during the optimization process while a campaign is running. In this case, the reason for blacklisting usually is the delivery of low-quality traffic or a violation of the campaign premises such as the targeting parameters by the publisher.

But it is also possible to blacklist publishers before starting a campaign. This makes sense if they do not address the right target audience.
